Osteria N.3 was born from a dream — Chef Matteo Ricci's vision of bringing the authentic, soulful flavours of Tuscany to the beautiful shores of Cape Verde. After years of running a Michelin-recommended trattoria in Florence, Matteo fell in love with Praia's vibrant culture and warm people during a visit in 2014. A year later, Osteria N.3 opened its doors.

The name "N.3" pays homage to the three core values that guide everything we do: passion for Italian culinary tradition, respect for the finest ingredients, and hospitality that makes every guest feel like family.

We source many of our ingredients directly from small producers in Tuscany — aged Parmigiano-Reggiano, extra-virgin olive oil from the hills of Chianti, and truffles from San Miniato — while celebrating the incredible fresh seafood and organic produce available locally in Cape Verde. The result is a menu that tells a story of two cultures harmonising on one plate.

Our restaurant itself is a reflection of this blend: warm Tuscan terracotta tones meet Cape Verdean coastal elegance, with candlelit tables, soft linen, and a terrace that catches the Atlantic breeze. Whether you're here for a romantic dinner, a family celebration, or a leisurely lunch, we invite you to experience the heart of Italy in the soul of Cape Verde.
